Bookbuzz 2017

Around 70 pupils from years seven and eight at The Romsey School were delighted recently to be selected to receive a free book. The Bookbuzz scheme is run by The Reading Agency and gives schools the opportunity to purchase books at a significantly reduced price, to give to pupils as a way of encouraging reading for pleasure.

The pupils who received the books had their names drawn randomly and were invited to select a book from a list of twelve popular titles. Librarian, Mrs Fiona Crowther said, “There was great excitement when the boxes of books arrived in school and pupils were presented with them”.

Among the books were Wonder by R J Palacio, a story about the importance of kindness and acceptance, The Boundless by Kenneth Oppel, a thrilling adventure story set on board a train and mystery story and Murder in Midwinter by Fleur Hitchcock.
