Sports Updates May 2019

U13 Girls Tennis – The girls kicked off their season in the LTA Team Schools tennis league with a competitive performance against Kings School in Winchester. The format is to play one set of singles and one set of doubles each. The girls took the game to 3 rubbers apiece and force a deciding championship tie break. Unfortunately they narrowly missed out, losing 10-8. Next up in Thornden school on Thursday 23rd May at their place.

U15 Boys tennis – The boys also began their LTA team tennis against Kings. The overall score did not reflect the competitiveness of the fixture with Kings winning each of the tight sets. The boys put up a good first performance and will be looking to build on this ahead of their net fixture on Thursday 23rd May away to Thornden.

Summer Sports Clubs – We are finding that many more pupils than normal are leaving school at 3pm and not taking part in healthy activity. I wished to make sure that you were all aware of the sports clubs available for your child to engage in a new activity or to lead a more healthy lifestyle.
