The Romsey School Library was packed out last Monday with almost 90 pupils and staff taking part in the first round of the Big Reading Quiz. Teams of four competed to answer questions about everything literary from Harry Potter to Oliver Twist. Each day the teams with the lowest score were eliminated leaving six teams to compete in the final on World Book Day. The final result was very close with a team of Year 10 girls in second place. The winners with the highest score in the final and the highest cumulative score over the four days were four girls from Year 8; Jess Booth, Fiona Grantham-Davis, Jo Lajeunesse and Sophie Lambert. It was a double for Sophie who, last week, was in the school team which won the regional heat of the Hampshire Lit Quiz. The girls were delighted to be presented with certificates and book tokens. Librarian, Mrs Fiona Crowther said she was extremely impressed with the range of their book knowledge.
