A Romsey School pupil has won a competition to design a logo for the 2016 Wessex Schools Literary Festival. The Festival, now in its sixth year, is a collaboration between six local secondary schools and is due to take place over two weeks from 27th June.
Pupils from all of the schools were invited to design a logo for the Festival programme brochure, with a large number of entries being received. Jessica Cresswell, a Year 10 pupil at The Romsey School was the winner with a simple but stylish design. She was delighted to be presented with some vouchers by Romsey’s Head Teacher, Mr McKavanagh.
The schools are all looking forward to this year’s Festival, which will feature authors such as Sally Nicholls, Curtis Jobling, Andy Briggs and Joe Craig. There will also be appearances from performance poets, Adisa and Harry Baker and a Poetry Slam event for pupils to showcase their own performance poetry.
